"This is not Belgium"

copyright: Nathalie Van Eygen
Still on the same subject of the complexity of the Belgian structure, politics, bilingualism, regional co-existence  - a subject which is never far away in this country-  I'd like to introduce Nathalie Van Eygen, a Belgian photographer, author of  "Ceci n'est pas België". The book is the result of Nathalie's graduation work at the Academy of Anderlecht. It illustrates life in Belgium and the challenges of different communities living together.  What better way than photographs to put things in perspective and show narrow-mindedness or oddness here and there.
The book is for sale in different libraries in Brussels and can also be ordered directly from the author at  nathaliev@mac.com (19,99 eu).

  3. Bonsoir. Sujet intéressant et merci de l'info. Je pense que tu vas bien. Génial ton message laissé sur mon site. Figure toi que j'y avais également pensé. Je vais te souhaiter de passer une très bonne soirée bien au chaud. Chez nous dans le Centre de la France, il fait moins deux degrés. Annoncés moins 6 degrés pour cette nuit. Amicalement Antoine.

  5. That sounds like a fascinating subject! I think i'd like a copy of this book. It's good to learn about life in far away places. I love my country. But sometimes we Americans are far too self centered...

Le titre sonne un peu comme celui d'un tableau de votre compatriote le peintre MAGRITTE...

  11. Politics are everywhere, aren't they? I don't really like politics in the UK, I find they make my blood pressure boil, but I still keep an eye on South Africa. I've been thinking a lot about what it means to be South African too, so this topic strikes a chord!
