Brussels' people

"Brussels' people " was the very first idea I had when I thought of starting a blog for the purpose of sharing my passion of photography or for having a reason to improve my skills,  whichever reason you prefer.
My youngest son reminded me the other day that I used to take more people shots.  He said he preferred those.
I thought of this while walking in the center of Brussels today and the man on the chair pointed to the lady with the purple hat and told me to take her picture  (not one of him).
You see what happened.

  1. Many people don't like having their pictures taken. Perhaps they feel their souls will be stolen by the camera, or perhaps they just don't trust the photographer.

  2. Interessant maar ik hoop dat je nog een vervolg van andere Brusselse mensen gaat posten. Slapende daklozen is welvde uitzondering.

  4. I don't care much for photo blogs without people and portraits, so I think it is great if you will show us more people from Brussels.

  5. What is the law in Belgium on taking photographs of people?
    In France you needed consent.

    1. from a legal point of view, there is not so much difference between France and Belgium, Helen. After all, we are still using the code Napoléon over here, dated 1804. Yes, you do need consent here too.
There are exceptions, as in all matters, to the general rule.. one exc is that when a group of more than x ( forgot whether it is 6 or 8 .. more than what I am showing, that's for sure) people are together in a public place, you do not need consent ..
I will take the pictures of the blog at simple request.

  6. Bonjour Anni
Comme partout, des tags (celui-ci est un graffiti joli) et de la détresse humaine.

  8. I am a people watcher and have great subjects in Holland, too. What about the man with his hand out to you, though? I usually ask people who are watching me if I can shoot them. Otherwise I photograph everything around them and sneak (cheezy) a photo of them. I like natural photos like the man asleep. Good shots. xo Jenny in Oostkapelle
