Jesuit Church, Brussels

The Gesù church, constructed in 1860 by Jesuit Priests, is located across the street from the Botanique, one of Brussels' great cultural temples.  In recent years the church itself was used for cultural events, exhibitions and concerts. A few weeks ago, it made the news; a group of homeless people were driven away by police.  I just noticed driving by there yesterday a man's pleading for a more suitable and permanent solution for the city's homeless.

  3. I wish that local authprities would do more to help homeless people rather than consider them as 'untidy' and hide them away.

  4. Unfortunately, we're seeing sights like this everywhere these days and it is sad. Local authorities here in the states are pretty much the same way.

  5. My heart breaks for these individuals! especially this time of year? Even though some are addicts.....they are still humans beings. Wish there was a good solution.
