Visit of Hattink's studio

"An artist's studio should be a small space because small rooms discipline the mind and large ones distract it", is what Leonardo da Vinci used to say.
Els Hattink's studio is perfect in every sense of the word. I enjoyed my visit last week so much, I could easily have overstayed my welcome. Els' atelier is not far from Brussels, located in an old tastefully renovated farm. It was fun to see the artist in action and find so much beauty gathered in one place.
I have mentioned Els before, last time at the occasion of her exhibition 'Fresco's from then and now' in Tervuren.place.
If  you are interested in Els'work, you can visit her website and contact the artist personally.

Antwerp 10 miles

I start my overview of the 10 miles run with the arrival of the first lady runner who got a special escort by two cyclists,  a police officer and a flag bearer.
Some participants ran for their employer, some for a good cause, others still just for fun..

rue de Namur / Naamsestraat Brussels

My most priceless possession, my favorite little Panasonic Lumix,  suddenly without any warning at all decided to only take B&W pictures... and this happened in the rue de Namur, on my way to  "To the Point- the neo-impressionist portrait" exhibition. What now?

Sidetracked

These car phone snapshots are the results of heavy Easter coast traffic pushing me off the highway on to alternative roads.
I really regret that I did not notice the cow with her bathtub a bit earlier!

Red Devils

Whether you are a soccer fan or not,  you can not miss it:  footballmania is slowly taking over.
The world cup in Brazil does not start until June 12 but already the shops are putting on display and selling flags, hood, special packs of playing cards...  "Ta fête" by the other national hero "Sromae" is the official anthem for the Devils.
With elections coming up on May 25, political analysts fear that predictions are even more difficult than usually with supporters of all communities (French and Flemish speakers) lining up behind the Devils.
I wish the Red Devils all the success in the world!

The North Sea

Our North Sea is special for several reasons.
One thing I like about it is that, depending on the time of day or night, a very different picture turns up even if the photographer takes it in (almost) the same spot.

Saint Augustin In Forest, Brussels

The church of Saint Augustin is better known under the name "Altitude 100" (because of its location on top of one of the capital's summits), this church is one of the three survivors of religious Art Deco-architecture in Brussels and was built by the architects Guianotte and Watteyne in 1936.
