To continue in the seasonal ghostly atmospheric photographs spirit of castle ruins from the previous post, I am delighted to show this breathtaking picture taken in As, Limburg last Sunday morning by Mirjam Devriendt, professional photographer and teacher at the Academy of Etterbeek (Rhok, Etterbeek).
I showed Mirjam's series "Belgique, c'est chique" before, see:

Academy of Etterbeek
I pursued my end of the academic year art academy trip and visited the Academy of Etterbeek.
A thorough cleaning job was going on there in preparation of the exhibition and open door days this coming weekend.
Els Hattink (picture 1), an accomplished painter and now a photography graduating student, was defending her work, street photography, with a smile and flair to her lecturer Johan Duyck (picture 2 and 3) and photographer Elisabeth Broekaert (picture 3 left), distinguished jury members.
Work of Elisabeth will be shown in the Fotomuseum in Antwerp during the summer.

Sylvie Deleu, Concerned Photography
"Concerned photography" shows her work at RHoK Gallery in Etterbeek, till May 19. The artist is present on Thursday from 2 to 6 pm and on Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm.
Sylvie was born in Courtrai (or Kortrijk in Dutch), Belgium, studied in Breda (the Netherlands), created a photo illustration and data agency in Brussels, traveled around the world for her art and participated in several exhibitions. She received prices and a lot of recognition.
More than a decade ago, Sylvie got confronted with an illness which left her visually impaired. At the exhibition a video shows how she sees the photographed subject and yet manages to use the tools offered in this digital age to her advantage. Sylvie rediscovered her trade and passion. It is extremely remarkable what this woman can do, she impressed me a whole lot by her personality, her drive, her inspiring photography.
If you are in the Brussels area, I highly recommend you go and discover her work.
