City people, random
Hopefully I won't get into trouble but I just love to randomly take pictures of people, some are totally oblivious and some do not like being photographed at all. People are a complex subject and portray, at least in my opinion, better than anything the times and its customs, both in constant and perpetual change and therefore interesting. Do you agree?

I agree, I always watch people on the streets, but don't always dare to photograph them.
ReplyDeleteYou're right!
ReplyDeleteI also adore to take pictures from people... but it is not always evident to push the button.
But they are the most interesting subject you can imagine as a photographer!
ReplyDeleteYes, I do so agree with you, Anni, people are fascinating. Unfortunately we are seeing more and more homeless people here in Seattle and they're not always interested in being photographed. These are great shots and a sad look at todays people. Hope your week is going well!

I see many people living on the streets and my heart breaks for them. I often wonder what circumstances brought them to the streets...a job loss, no money left, illness. Society has cast them aside and cut the social programs, the safety net that can help them get back on their feet again.
ReplyDeleteMost people won't look at homeless people, they avoid eye contact. I believe in my heart that they think if they shun them they can pretend it doesn't exist. So sad....
That's why people watching is so much fun, and so interesting. Great pictures, Anni! As always.
anni
Kris, your comment is also very interesting. I think you are absolutely right.
ReplyDeleteSylvia, that is true everywhere, I guess.
ReplyDeleteI love both of these photos! I've learned to not be too shy and ask people if I can take their photo and I rarely take photos of children, unless asked to do so. Somehow people always agree if I ask first.
ReplyDeleteI agree, it's double.
ReplyDeleteBut I don't ask it nearly never.
You have also to see the circonstances.
Yes, i totally agree! And you're right, some in these photos do NOT look happy. One can never tell what each individual person's story is, but all have stories to tell. :) But the facial expressions and mannerisms in each photo say so much..
ReplyDeleteFantastic shots. What character they have.
ReplyDeleteDarryl and Ruth :)
Hallo Anni,
Groetjes,
Frans
Thank you everyone for your precious advice.
ReplyDeleteDifficult topic and delicate balance to observe between originality and respect.
Summer in the city...
ReplyDeleteTwo great shots here Anni, the lady's not happy but her look makes a great image, the guy is suuuper relaxed about it!!
