Zeynep
Meeting someone like Zeynep is what makes traveling extra special. Zeynep keeps a jewelry shop in the Sultanahmet area of Istanbul. I just returned last night from a fun short holiday and first time visit to this mysterious city... the trip did not allow enough time to see all the wonders but there was enough time to become friends with Zeynep whose sister lives in Belgium's Charleroi and cousin in Antwerp. She is therefore saving up and planning her very first trip to Belgium next year.

Anni,
ReplyDeleteIstanbul always sounded mysterious to me. I bet you had a great time.
Glad you were able to meet and spend time with a new friend.
Happy Easter!
Prachtig land !
ReplyDeleteIk wens je een heel fijn Paasweekend :)
Istanbul? How exciting and wonderful that you got to visit this mysterious city and met a very friendly person.

Ciao Anni, bellissima esperienza con un incontro veramente interessante!
ReplyDeleteFelice Pasqua a te e ai tuoi cari!
Superbe cette rencontre!!!!! c'est génial!! bisousssssssssss
ReplyDeleteIstanbul – you must have had a great little trip. I spent 4 months there with my mom when I was a child, but I don’t remember all that much.
ReplyDeleteBy the way – bravo to Belgium! I just watched the Paris-Roubaix and Belgium Tom Boonen won. This is his 4th time to win the cycling course Paris-Roubaix. He now is equal to the other Belgium cyclist athlete Roger de Vlaeminck who also won 4 times in the 70s. Well done Tom. He is one of my favorite cyclists.
Thank you all for your comments, I love to receive them!
ReplyDeleteTime does not always allow a personal response but every single reaction means the world to me.
Virginia, I do not believe that you feel left out .. you have too much exciting photography and red bench stuff going on !
Vagabonde, you truly are a citizen of the world. It must have meant so much to live in Istanbul for a while even if your recollections today are minor . Yes, here in Belgium we are all so very proud of our champion Tom Boonen.Yesterday, Roubaix was flowing over of Belgian supporters of Tom. I see you are très au courant du monde cycliste !Thank you for your reaction.
She looks like a friendly person. Looking forward to more photos of Istanbul!
ReplyDeleteJanet; I wish I could post them here..; but not very appropriate, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads up - I'm going to have to find her shop - I'd love to duck in for a visit (and a bit of shopping!)
